"With Enginsight, we have made the invisible visible. The permanent and automatic monitoring of the security status and availability of our systems enables us to do two things: First, the analysis data from Enginsight helps us to effectively implement the requirements of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin). Second, we can take proactive action so that we as an IT department live up to our claim. Namely, good IT is the one you don't feel."

IT security challenges for housing cooperatives

For housing cooperatives, long-standing traditions and history often go hand in hand with the need to use technical innovations and new developments. The following aspects are particularly relevant for these companies:

One-time test or permanent monitoring?

One-time pentration test?

Like other companies, cooperatives are faced with the question: one-off security audit or permanent monitoring of the IT system?
Enginsight can score in both areas as an all-in-one solution for your IT security.

IT security for housing cooperatives

Learn in a nutshell how you as a housing cooperative can improve the security of your IT infrastructure and take a look at the Enginsight software.

What connects housing cooperatives with banking supervision

Cooperatives with affiliated savings institutions are considered credit institutions – and are thus subject to supervision by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). The latter is also responsible for monitoring the quality of risk management at credit institutions.

The Federal Agency provides a principle-based framework in the Bank Supervisory Requirements for IT (BAIT). Depending on the complexity of the business activity, these measures do not have to be the same as those of a bank, for example.

BaFin requirements place great emphasis on vulnerability management. Regular scans as well as the assessment of criticality are indispensable.

Also required are general IT security topics such as pentesting, identification of threats, performance and capacity needs, and reporting to inform management.

Find out how the WBG unit was able to meet these requirements - and make further optimizations to its IT system thanks to Enginsight - in our case study.
